Match Bayern Munich - Manchester City Uefa Champions League 17-09-2014

Match time Bayern Munich v Man City is at 19:45 on 17 September 2014 for Uefa Champions League 2014-2015. Kick off time of match Bayern Munich v Man City is on London time.

Bayern Munich and Manchester City are in the same group in UEFA Champions league for the third time. Their last meeting was in December last year at Allianz Arena, when Manchester City surprised the Bavarians and won 3:2. Both teams managed to qualify for the knock-out stage. However, Manchester City were stopped by Barselona in the round of 16, while Bayern lost convincingly to Real Madrid in the semi-final. That was their heaviest home defeat in European competition. They are part of Group E this season, together with Roma and CSKA Moscow.

The German champions have five trophies from Champions League and the last one from 2013. Bayern have two victories after the opening three rounds in Bundesliga, so didn't start ideal as last season when were unbeatable almost the whole year. Here are the results:

13.09.2014. Bayern Munich - Stuttgart 2:0
30.08.2014. Schalke - Bayern Munich 1:1
22.08.2014. Bayern Munich - Wolfsburg 2:1

The coach Pep Guardiola has a lot of problems with injured players in front of this match. The defenders Holger Badstuber and Rafinha, as so the midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger, Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara will miss the match due to injuries. His major doubt is attacking duo Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben. Robben missed the Sunday's training with a knee complaint, while match fitness could be an issue for Ribery. The Frenchman has recovered from a knee injury and marked his first appearance against Stuttgart on Saturday.

Manchester City started good and have obtained two wins in the opening two matches of Premier league. However, they suffered an unexpected defeat to Stoke City at home and shared the points with Arsenal in the next two rounds. Seven points from maximal twelve is not an ideal start as the fans were expected. Here are the results:

13.09.2014. Arsenal - Manchester City 2:2
30.08.2014. Manchester City - Stoke City 0:1
25.08.2014. Manchester City - Liverpool 3:1
17.08.2014. Newcastle Utd - Manchester City 0:2

The manager Manuel Pellegrini will not lead his team because of a ban for comments that he made after the match with Barcelona last season. The key defender Pablo Zabaleta received a red card on that match, so will miss this match due to suspension.

The last two mutual matches ended with away victories and goals scored on both sides. Here are the results:
